Mel Agne (Agnem) did this one My truck at the first mini meet I went. He jumped two wires on the pedal gallery so that the truck think the clutch is depressed when I turn the ignition key to the ON position. Basically it starts like an automatic but it is NOT

. This was very helpful to Me.
By the way you had it in your sig, I thought you had some secret trick that I hadn't heard yet.
Twisting together the clutch-switch wires is the first thing I do to all of my trucks.
My number one reason being that I feel it is damaging to crank/start the engine with all that stress on the throw-out bearing and clutch-fingers; it is much less traumatic to start with the clutch ENGAGED and the transmission in NEUTRAL.
On one truck, I did a little different than usual and spliced wires onto the switch-wires, after un-hooking them from the switch, then I routed those new wires through a hidden toggle-switch, such that with that switch OFF, no fire goes to the starter; flip the switch ON and then it can start; it is a pretty neat anti-tampering device.
