i have a 1999 f350 4x4 v10 6.8l, i was wondering how long they last and if there are any problems with them? i have 176000 miles on it and feels like i lost a lot of power but it seems to run real good.

Oil pumps are a know failure. Ejecting spark plugs too. Restrictive exhaust manifolds and y-pipe

you could put a chip/programmer on it. my dad had one and it had plenty of power for the little bit of towing we did with it. does alot better than this 6.0 chevy he has now. or maybe im just racist against chevys :D

fuel filter. just remember the fuel filter needs changed about every 20,000 miles, and keep a good tuneup on it with motorcraft parts

Use the Iridium spark plugs and pay close attention to the torque. The plugs are a 100,000 mile plug, so no need to even touch them again for a long time. I have a K&N air filter installed on my V10. The "Y" pipe is restrictive, so change that out if possible. A tune up and fuel filter are the cheapest and easiest things I can recommend for you. I have 111,*** miles on my V10, and haven't had any issues or loss of power.

I second all above. The plug problem too. My buddy bought one and had to make his own thread cert after it blew one out. He said it towed better than his 454 did so he was pleased to have it. Im not really a fan because of the milage, but then, thats not why you get one of these is it.

I owned a Chevy Suburban with a 454. My V10 is in a 2001 Excursion that tips the scales at 7,400 lbs. empty... I agree with the above. I drive it because I have three little ones and safety more important than mileage to me when it comes to my family.
