I also agree with leaving the truck as it is. The engine may not be quite as powerfull but it has the potential for better mileage. There are turbo kits out in the wild for that engine too.
Now that you are doing better you can always build your truck stable up again. One good reason is should you find an engine combo you want for the Chevy then you won't be without a truck while the conversion is being done. Believe you me, conversions don't always go as planned.
