for serpentine belt trucks only.......

this is an item every serpentine belt truck owner should have in his/her spare parts toolbox. should the situation arise you seize up your air conditioner pump or pulley bearing, this will save you a very expensive tow or a ruined trip. this is a motormite/doorman part #34184 and replaces where the AC compressor used to go. yes, you won't have AC, but it beats being stranded.

Just a thought here.. But, uh.. lets say you lose the pump on the freeway and get stranded... Some vehicles you can get away with having a shorter belt that still fits the serpentine path. For me the belt would be preferable to standing on a freeway removing an ac pump..

The pulley is still nice tho. If I was serpentine i would carry it.

there's not much or a way to get around this. if there was, Ford would not have went through the expense of designing such part. this is on the AC delete vehicles. I just happen to give it a expanded use

Just to add to what Calvin said on this, if the **** did hit the fan on the freeway you could most likely get off the road before having to do it.

P.S. These trucks will snap a belt and keep running, it can be witnessed when the belt slips off and gets wrapped around the crank pulley at idle.

One more reason to stay with my old v belt setup. Chucked an A/C belt which took out the alternator belt but left the P/S pump belt so I could steer and stop.

I bought a similar part at autozone for $40 when my AC pump seized on me. When I finally get my AC back I'll be keeping it in the toolbox, just in case.
