It was 111F here today. GF and I went "Down the hill" to a Casino. Coming home up Cajon pass were many cars on the shoulder puking steam or just sitting with the hood up.
I was watching my temp guage. I was rolling along @ 70 mph and the guage was slowly climbing. When it got to the "A" in "normal" the fan clutch came alive! This also slowed us down to 62 mph
.
Foot on the floor, black smoke out the pipe but it kept chuggin along with the fan screaming. Once over the hill the guage went down to its usual place on the "N". But the clutch stayed locked up for a while longer. I guess I'd rather have one thats overly agressive than one that don't work.
We were rewarded with these temps out my vents for the whole trip.
