got any studded tires? in our area if you show up with studded tires they will only do a idle test. but having said that on pickups you just have to increas your GVW to become smog check exempt

. No point in trying after work, due to the traffic I will never get any speed to heat it up.

Ennh, shitcan the thermostat.. The only time I ever hit 200+ (with e-fan off) is when I exceed 67 mph, or am stuck in traffic.

Its gotta be non existant on my truck, or non op.

We tagged both our Expedition and the Centurion as Commercial trucks, 6-16k, and we live in Canyon... Not one notice of smog checking. Notice in the mail we are due to renue, but not sniff test.

FWIW, Idaho plates run (passenger plain jane 1A in your case) out at 8k. that truck empty is 6k.. if you ever plan on having it at 8,001#, it could be a huge deal should you end up in a situation of liability for damage or injusry, if you are underplated.

I would consider Commercial, or at least truck tags,

Wrong truck, LOL I'm testing my 86, not my 93. The pump on the 86 has never been opened.

I will check the air filter, cant remember what it looks like right now. I'll run it on the freeway as well. I have 5 more chances to pass, gonna try it again on saturday. No point in trying after work, due to the traffic I will never get any speed to heat it up.

OOooops... Missed that one!

I was just told about the truck plates when I got the plates for the 86. I will be getting truck plates for my 93 this month as it see's 16k+ quite a bit. The 86 will get them next year before it starts working. I haven't even put a hitch on it yet so it wont be surpassing 8k anytime soon.

I will give it a go tomorrow, hopefully the roads stay dry for a bit so I can flog it. :sly

I went and got the truck retested yesterday after a 75mph jaunt down the interstate and it passed with flying colors. I'm allowed an opacity limit of 55% and I put out 25.8%. I had to take the test twice though as nobody noticed I had blown the probe out of the pipe on the first snap and it was only reading .3%, must of thought I had the cleanest truck in the state for a minute.
