Nope. Noe even close comparing an idi at 445 ci to a cummins with 360 ci. I do understand the dynamics of the torque an inline engine makes but there is no replacement for displacement. Anyone can gear something to move a house but at what speed wil it move that house. Dodge trucks were famous for getting the same mpg mt or hauling a load. Gears was that answer.. Torque tells us how steep a hill we can climb. Torque tells us how fast we are getting over it.
