At what psi are you considered to be overspinning a sidewinder? How much should I push it? They send it out with the WG calibrated to ~9 psi, and I'm sure thats not the upper limit of the turbo map, I couldn't see them sending it out maxxed. How far can I go before heating the air significantly?

Heath, you're intercooled, so I would bet that point occurs at a lower psi for non-intercooled motors. I'll be installing an ATS unit on my 6.9 when I get it together, so it's gonna be interesting to see what folks have to say here.

It ould be a lot easier to tune this thing if I could find a turbo map for the dang thing.

If you can't find one, put a drive pressure gauge on your setup. If you see more than a 1.5:1 drive pressure it's safe to assume the turbo is beyond it's efficiency range

when i ran mine, the first 2 runs i left the WG hooked up. last run i unhooked it. boost jumped from 8 to 12 psi. made more power too at 12 psi.

My bet is anything over 13-14psi is a loss. The 60-1 wheel Russ dies for the ATS turbo's looks like it should do 18-20psi on the upper end before it's out of the map (20psi at higher rpms might push it off). TP38 map looks almost identical to a 60-1 map but they have a higher pressure capability than the 60-1 but flow about the same lb/min of air.

Nope, this was on the F250. The F350 is intercooled, the F250 isn't.

The problem is that you cant just say 15psi is too much. 15psi at 2k and 15psi at 3k are totally different places on a map usually.

Usually lots of boost at low engine speed (low NA airflow) will put these turbos off the map quicker than high rpm and high boost.
anybody have a map for this turbo?

The consenses that I read was the ATS turbo's use a H-trim T04B compressor. Banks uses a TD06 compressor, although I dont know which model (20G I believe, but cant really confirm).

Besides the 60-1 T04B, there is also a 62-1 T04B compressor which flows more.

Yeah, I know what you're saying about the early boost vs late boost, I may just have to play with it and watch my egt's.
