I would like to see the power come on a bit sooner. My engine is a stock reman by Promar, click on the link in my signature for more info. The turbo was rebuilt, 3" outlet, down pipe and exhaust, and has the same amount of miles as the engine. The pump is a stock build that Mel's builder had on his own NA truck and has about 15-20,000 miles on it with stock out of the box BB code injectors. Timing was at 9.5 deg@ 2000rpms if I remember, Corey timed it when he came down to help me last year.
The metering that the builder puts into the Moose pump is very apparant upon seeing the graphs. It was very interesting to see the difference. I was surprised to see their runs completed by 31-3200 rpms. In the end I concluded that I out horsed them solely on the extra rpm's my set up allowed. Hmm, maybe a higher rpm Moose pump.......
So what is the fix?I think I have to work on the torque number. I should be able to break into the 400 ft lb range.

Remember guys, that torque is what moves things, and that is the really important number. HP is an imaginary figure that confuses a lot of people. It's torque, not HP that will pull that trailer over the mountain in overdrive. The reason Moose Pumps are governed where they are is that fueling decreases the higher the RPM's go. You might see more HP, but less torque, and when your driving your truck, it's the torque that makes you happy. Not the HP. Just something to think about. Look at it this way....

But the locomotive has enough torque to pull a 100 ton mile long train up a hill all day and all night.
The pulling tractor will struggle to drag maybe 10 tons 300 feet. I know it's an apples to oranges comparison, so just imagine the tractor 's engine inside the carbody of the locomotive and see how that feels to you.

It definitely leaves me with a desire to do something with my truck and see how it adds up next year.
More importantly to me are two things...one, does the torque curve fall off on a moose pump at 3000+ RPM? or just remain flat.
