drying water block filters for WMO

Those of you that use Goldenrod water block filters for your WMO, have you tried taking the filter elements out and letting sit for a couple of days to dry? Just wondering if I'm wasting my time. If nobody has tried this I'll let you know if it works.

I don't see it working since the element is saturated in oil. Kind of restricts the ability for water to evaporate since it is essentially sealed in.

most of those a re made of clay and once wet are done.
