Just a quick post I will elaborate more and have pics later.

I Dynoed Big Ed today, here are the reults..

First pull, no LPG
HP 183.15 Torque 325.45

2nd and 3rd pull with LPG

HP 205.35 Torque 362.64
HP 205.51 Torque 361.55

So 22.96 increase in HP
and 37.19 increase in Torque.

Had a great day gotta go for now,..

That's a purdy respectable increase. Now you need to add water and go back to see the effects of water on the results.

Darrin, are you using a homemade setup, or did you buy a kit? Those are pretty good numbers, but I agree with argve, somebody should dyno with and without water/methanol injection. Also it would be kind of cool to see what kind of numbers an IDI with a little shot of nos would do.

Just NOT at the same time as LPG.
It is a catastrophe just waiting to happen.
I don't remember all the specifics, just remember
hearing the same story from a few guys.

I've tried both and I recommend water/****.
don't know how well it works in a n/a truck

Darrin,

Do you know if you are feeding the maxumum amount the engine will handle? I was told to increase the propane flow until I heard a sound like spark knock in a old gas engine then back off until the noise goes away. That is how I set mine and I am quite happy with the power boost it provides. I am running the propane at 6 psi through a .070 jet into the inlet tube to the turbo.

:D Now that I have a few minutes, Dave and I went to the Merchant Automotive Spring Fling in Holland MI today. Mostly a Chevy event but any truck was welcome. IDIeselman was also able to attend and took home the Best Ford award in the Show and Shine Competition ;Sweet

We had a great time, there were a ton of High Horspowe trucks there including an 1000 HP 1900 Tourque Duramax. I will post some pics later.

Lots of 450 to 550 HP trucks, and lots of smoke. :peelout

I have a question about rear wheel HP, with 205 RWH, what is the actual motor HP? Dyno Dave said that it is 209HP Corrected, meaning (Ibelieve) corrected for altitude, temp and humidity. But what would my actual crank HP be, and what is it from the factory?
I just want an idea of what HP increases that I have the rest of the mods, turbo, Exhaust, Pump etc.

My LPG System is homeade like Zigg's setup. I would like to add water someday but I wouldn't mess with NOS. Leave that for the bigrace trucks. Ijust like real world useable HP.

I thought you could use LPG and Water with out any issues,..:dunno Gonna have to look into it alittle more..

Yes Jim I am real close to that as well, about 7PSI. I was able to increase LPG a little when I installed the functional hood scoop.

Like I said before I will post pics and I also will have a vid on the truck on the dyno as well. Just have to get it from my brother in the next couple of days.

Later!

I've heard you lose about 30% between the crank and the wheels, so .30X 209= 62.7; 209+62.7=271.7HP wow! The stock 7.3 was 185HP at the crank, so .30X185= 55.5, so before any mods, you should have dyno'd at 185-55.5 approx.= 129.5HP, which is where most N/A trucks have come up on the dyno +- 10HP in my 4-5 years of watching the boards... Good info...really good. Big Ed is a beast!

I have a friend that runs a performance car business and he has a Dyno-Jet dyno. He told me the average difference is around 18%. We dynoed my Samurai (Don"t laugh) before I put a Weber 32-36 carb, headers, and 2" exhaust on it. I gained 22% hp and 20% torque.

What did Dave turn on the rollers...

Dave didn't run, For a couple of reasons, He was hooking up the 5 th wheel later that afternoon to take the family to Cedar Point, and didn't want any problems with the truck (lame excuse) also his wife was with him so mabee he didn't want to drop the $75.00.:dunno LOL :D

I tried to push him to run it but to no avail,...

Thanks for the info, I like the numbers! Guess it puts the crank torque at about 471! No wonder that 7500 pound truck gets out of the hole so well!

EGT's have never been a problem on the truck with or without LPG. I hardely ever drive the truck loaded without using the LPG so I really don't have a difference between the two. I may have to experiement a little with that.

Here are a few more pics, Scotty and Dave have the pics on the dyno run so I have to wait for those.
The Tan Chevy on the Dyno is Nasty Girl, He hit 1070 HP! and the estimated 1900 torque. The dyno only goes to 1500.

You're actually missing a step or two in that equation. yes, RWHP Crank minus 30% of crank. You calculated 30% of flywheel, which makes the difference smaller. What you have to do is realize that because it's 30% less than flywheel, that makes it 70% of flywheel, so you do 209 / .7 which gives you 298.5, so it's even better! With a little tweaking you could probably have it running with a stock 6.0  :peelout:
