ok ok how do i bypass the controller just want glow plugs when i want them , my wait to start light keeps coming on as i drive intermittently

If you have the later type controller mounted behind the air cleaner on the engine, you need to find the white wire, take it off and tape it. Put a new crimp ring connector and wire where the white wire was. Run this new wire through the firewall into the dash. Go buy a decent momentary pushbutton switch and mount it somewhere. Hook your wire coming through the firewall to one side of the switch, take another short piece of wire and hook it to the other side of the switch and then bolt the other end of the short wire to a good ground. That's it.

You should have the later one though on that year truck. They just moved it for the turbo.
