deceided to go add-a-leaf....recommendations?

Hi,

After doing some reading, I have opted for the single long style add-a-leaf setup to level out the front end of my truck. I am curious who has done this, which manufacture you recommend, and if you have had any issues with the alignment since adding the kit. I plan on adding this to my 86 f250. Thanks in advance, take care.

I got mine (which I have yet to install) from the summit racing website. They are superlift and cost ~$90. i'm sure they have add-a-leafs for 80-86's too.

I just got a set for my daughter's truck, but they're still in the box. However, I got the same ones as Ryan Eklund(aka reklund). I've seen his truck with
them installed and it sits pretty nice.

Total with shipping was $131.71 to New Mexico and it took about a week.

Years ago when I got a set of add-a-leafs I got them from Summit. Alignment depends on where the truck sat when it was last set. Part of what you are doing is restoring the original height before the springs sagged.

Of course TTB / TIB suspensions are sensitive to any suspension height (plow on / off etc) and will vary camber value with any change in ride height.

I'm all for doing things to get the front end up away from the bump stops. You don't even need a kit. Get a pair of spring packs the same width from a junkyard, and use one or two leaves out of those packs as add-a-leafs. Keep the rest of the leaves around to replace broken leaves or to stiffen up the rear. I've used "used" spring leaves in the last 3 or 4 Fords that I've done rear spring work on.
