What specifically are the differences in the 10 lug 80's and the 8 lug 80's?

I was told that I can't use a ring and pinion from an 8 lug. I would like to know why.

While stepping up to a 4.88 would be a good start, I'd like to go to a 4.56, or a 4.11.

I know, get a gear vendors, but I don't know if I can because of my tranny mounted parking brake.

from what I am told the housing and the carrier is a completely different animal from what the ford is. it would make sense since the offset would be pretty significant.

Only two options if you don't swap the carrier 5.13's and 4.63's (or something to that effect, Calvin (towcat) can elaborate on this.

As far as the GV is concerned, it is set up like a divorce mount on ZF 2wd applications, so it would take the place of the carrier bearing.
