:( 711.7 miles 14.4gals=49.7 mpg I think I would of hit that 50+ if my wife would not have been driving it. 5-6 tanks before this one and it was 50 or better.
561 miles 30 gals=18.7 on my truck. So which one would you rockett scientists commute to work in.:D

Stop complaining. My STILL STINKY gets 15 around town and up to 19 on the highway...AND DIESEL HERE IN CALIFORNIA IS WAY OVER $2/gallon. I wish I had a Jetta TDI, but I don't.

Fortunately my job gives me a fuel allowence so my cost is ZERO...:)

MY g/f comutes to work in her 03 Jetta TDI. She averages about 50 mpg. I recently put a Van Aaken box in it for a bit more oomph!

Wish I had a TDI right now. I doing about 110 miles to work and back. Gas here is $2.43 a gallon and diesel is $2.19 a gallon.

Nice numbers Larry, can't beat 50 MPG

I'm new to the group but not new to diesels. Our immediate family owns:
2004 Jetta Wagon TDI 2.0
1998 Jetta Sedan TDI
1989 Jetta Sedan Diesel
1987 Jetta Sedan Gasser
1983 Vanagon Wasserboxer Gasser

I own:

2 1981 VW Caddy Pickups
1993 Dodge W 250 Diesel
1993 W 350 Diesel
1999 Jetta New Body Style TDI

Diesel is the ONLY way to go. Dodge gets 23 mpg routinely
VW's do much better.

Swany, I can see you pimpin' a TDI V-dub on spinners. I drove a customer's for about 100 miles one day last week and it had more get up and go than I expected for an 02 auto. VA box and injectors would really get it moving.
