If memory serves me, when your standing at the passenger fender, and your looking at the connector on the regulator, you will want the first terminal nearest to the motor, and then the 3rd one towards you. So jump from terminal 1 to 3, and that should full field it. I make up a short jumper wire by crimping a flat blade connector onto each end of the wire, and then just insert the blades into the connector when it is unplugged from the regulator.
Alrigth, so i conencted the red alt terminal direct to battery, voltage only jumped up .4. yup she dead.
oreileys had a 100 amp model for 100 bucks, bougth that, bougth some fuel, installed new alternator, all on my 1 hour lunch break.
13.8 volts at idle, success!
