Hey guys...

I just got offered a fairly decent amount of crude oil... I've heard of engines being able to run on straight crude... however is it possible to use in our applications or is the stuff just too much?

I would be running it in my 4bta cummins with a bosch VE pump... blended, filtered, etc... just didnt know if anyone had any experience with using it.

Again, havnt ran any yet... was just offered a pretty decent quantity.

Thanks
-Chris

I have read about it being done, but there are many different types of crude.

Find out what kind, then report back ;Sweet

I noticed you are not that far from me. I'm interested to know what kind of oil you have :sly

Is there anyway of telling what type of crude it is if the person who currently has it doesn't know? I know I could send a sample and have it analyzed... but is that the only way?

If thats the case, who/where could I send a sample to find out whats what?

Some crude is toxic. It'll make you sick in one breath. I think I remember someone saying that Indiana and Illinois crude is useable.
