Correct pre-turbo Diesel tailgate emblem?

Hello,

I recently saw one of these on a tailgate without the XLT paneling, and was wondering if it is correct to place on the left side of the black reflective portion of an XLT model:

I posted earlier that I was looking to purchase only the plastic portion as I am happy with the stainless portion of mine. I ended up scoring one from the pull a part with metal that wasn't real good. Shortly I'll make one good panel out of two.
