Okay its supposed to get down into the 20s tonight and a month or so ago i had a coolant leak(thermostat housing) and i had been dumping distilled water into the system so i know its out of wack. I need to drain everything and add the proper coolant and distilled water. What i don't know is how to drain the radiator, what the proper coolant is, or how much it will hold total.. Im not in the position to do a total flush i don't want to spend hours on end doing this.. I had the radiator out of the truck earlier this year and had it flushed.

The radiator will have a drain petcock on the lower LH side.
Could also just pull the lower hose.

You should pull at least the LH block drain. It's rear of the oil filter. Takes a ¼" drive.

You need 4 gallons of coolant.
I used fleet charge.

One of the flush t's will help getting the air out.

Any diesel rated coolant will be fine except for extended life coolants that will eat gaskets etc...
