Cookies not working overnight?

Not sure why, but some days when I come into work, and I pull up a forum, I don't see what threads are new like I normally would. I have to go by the date and time to determine if I've looked at them or not. During the day it's fine. Kinda like they need reset. I never have a logon problem though, so I know my cookies aren't getting deleted. I'm logged on from the last visit.

Mel you boys running some type of back up thingy over there are work at night - I know that around like 2 am or so our systems at work come to a crawl for a few mins when the home office is sucking all my surfing bandwidth and I loose my cookies on the posts. So I understand where you're coming from...

I get the same problem too intermittently, it only seems to do it when I browse with Mozilla, I have to re-log in nearly everytime when I browse with Mozilla. I dont have that problem with Explorer though?

I still run into it. Not sure what the cause, but it may have something to do with me accessing the board from more than one machine. Guess I'll just live with it.

What browser are you running? I haven't had to log in, in months.

I still intermittently have to log in with Mozilla .

I'm using IE 6.0 on an XP machine with SP2. I see I have a cookie called cookie:[email protected] with todays date and time on it, so it must be updated somewhat continuously. I find that once I log off of this machine (just the computer, not the web site) that tomorrow when I come back to it, I will NOT have to log into the web site, but I will not get the little indicator flag that shows me the new messages I haven't read. However, this isn't all the time, but I do see it happening both here and at home. Maybe what I will do is look at the time stamp on the cookie before I go to the site to see if it still has the date and time from the last time I visited. The thing I wonder about is how the cookie handles me accessing the site from different places. TDS works the same way, but I never have a problem with that site, so I assume the difference is in the forum software.
