I'm using IE 6.0 on an XP machine with SP2. I see I have a cookie called cookie:
[email protected] with todays date and time on it, so it must be updated somewhat continuously. I find that once I log off of this machine (just the computer, not the web site) that tomorrow when I come back to it, I will NOT have to log into the web site, but I will not get the little indicator flag that shows me the new messages I haven't read. However, this isn't all the time, but I do see it happening both here and at home. Maybe what I will do is look at the time stamp on the cookie before I go to the site to see if it still has the date and time from the last time I visited. The thing I wonder about is how the cookie handles me accessing the site from different places. TDS works the same way, but I never have a problem with that site, so I assume the difference is in the forum software.
