@Cant Write I picked these up at O-Really? Yesterday. Definely made a difference on the lever handle and on the lever on the far end of the tube near where the cable connects. Going to check the cable today like @Black dawg suggested

So the shift lever position is much more positive and much less sloppy feel but here is the real issue. This is the cable length as I removed it

But this is the length if pressure is applied to both ends of the cable

The cable is internally broken but you can't remove either end so it seems good. Sometimes it would catch good enough to shift but eventually let go and fail so it seems random

Thanks to @Black dawg for pointing this out. I would mostly likely never checked this. If I had not pushed and pulled onto the ends at the same time I still would not have found it because it slides in the case as you would expect it to without pressure applied

Alright,

I didn’t drive off a cliff, get run over, but man that was a long shift….

I think it was @Double-S-Diesel that called it, my tube is broken, but I will check the cables as well.

In all honesty, my commuter went down and that has consumed my life outside normal duties. It got a camshaft, timing belt, BSM delete so new oil pump, new clutch, new CV’s and all new front suspension.

Sweet, I have an O-Really an hour away and just happen to need groceries too.

What’s that reddish-orange thing?

If it’s not too expensive I’ll do the cable as well.
