Hey guys. Trying to get back on top of things to get Big Red Rolling. I need a new clutch and pressure plate because the genious that installed mine put the clutch disk in backwards which chewed up the rivets on the disk and did who knows what to the pressure plate. I've got it apart, I want to put a new clutch in while I'm at it. The DMF looks to be brand new. I haven't got down and done the full test procedure but there is virtually no wiggle in it before it hits the springs and I think I can still see the crosshatch pattern on it so I'm not inclined to swap it out at this point. I see South Bend and Luk recommended quite a bit for the SMF conversions but I have not run across any glowing endorsements for the DMF setup. Is there an upgrade to be had to go bigger than stock without changing/modding flywheels?

Thanks!

So I found a Luk Kit that I think is right on Parts Geek. PN is 5359-07083859

The description is kinda cryptic but the picture doesn't have any springs in the disk so that should be for the DMF. Price is pretty good.

Rock auto has a kit PN 07100 that says its a 12" upgrade for the DMF.

Laser,

I'd probably lean towards a LUK still I've had good luck with them, but never used a DMF one. Maybe even go with a ford pressure plate and disc?

I went with a SMF in my 93 and have LUK kits in both trucks. I've really liked the clutch feel with the LUK kits. They are silky smooth with low pedal force. I had a reman clutch in my 89 years ago and it had horrible pedal feel. Really stiff.
