Sometimes a clunk is a loose rivet. I think there is even a TSB for that. The last klunk I had was in the Moosewagon, and that was the sway bar link bushings.

Same here, rebuilt the entire front end and still the clunk. I got 3/4 of a turn out of the tranny cross member bolts and that fixed it. Well except for the slap of the leaf springs.(the plastic bushing had given out on a brand new set of springs) stuffed a new one in there and no more noise. Well there is still the noise from the dash when hitting a high but short bump with speed. My alignment guy rambled on about tire size, air pressures and such but I didn't pay much heed. Hell, it's the cat's meow now.

I had a heavy rattle, chased it around a bit and found the caliper retainers were sacked, put in new ones and fixed the noise, but the real problem is the bracket is worn bigger than it should be, those cant be cheap.
