Cleaning carbon out of Turbo Exhaust housing

My exhaust housing is so carbon'ed up that I bent the turbine pulling it out. So I need to get it sparkling clean in there before I install my new CHRA into it.
What do you guys use to clean the carbon out of these exhaust housings?

I having never done it would probably use a brass brush or scotch brite pad.

Easy-Off Grill cleaner for your gas grills, it will clean it to the bare metal.

Not oven cleaner, grill cleaner.
