I scored a set of alcoas in pretty good shape but some of the clear coat is peeling off. Any suggestions on stripping these wheels down? Also, where is a good place to find rear center caps? Thanks guys
Do a search on the forum. There is a member who did a detailed post with pictures, of shining his alcoas. They look great, but I can't remember his username.
I got my center caps from Hubcap Annies, you can also get them on e-bay. They run $25-$35 each. Are they true alcoas or are they the ford version? The true alcoas dont have clearcoat and wont accept factory retained center caps.
Any way to buy a clear coat to put onto wheels? I ask because my wheels have a tendancy to oxidize and I have to polish them, if I could clear coat them to stop the oxidizing that would be great
could try zoopseal. after the wheel is cleaned and polished it supposed to coat the wheel and keep it impervious to the elemenets. i was going to try this with my F-150s wheels but i gave up as they dont shine anymore.
