3.08???? Now that wasn't available stock was it???

Not a bad price. Heck, there is one here on the local CL w/ a C6, extended cab, 4x4 for $600...... over rev-ed engine. I was thinking of getting it...

Yea you could get one with a 3.08. I'm suprised it has a 5th wheel with that combo though. If it were here in PA, it would be sold to mwah.

My red truck, the other 83 that I own in my sig, has what Im pretty sure has to be a 3.08. Atleast thats what the tag says. Everytime I try the rollover trick both the tire and drive shaft come out 1:1 lol and I know that aint possible.

But would you buy it to use it or buy it to part it out Mel?
I have to say I've never seen an early 80's F350 2wd before.

The 3.08 is too tall, and that's why it has an underdrive rather than an overdrive. I think most of us want an overdrive unit.

1983... that was the first year wasn't it, for the 6.9?

Who knows, maybe the original owner custom ordered it w/ the 3.08. That or they didn't know better back then.... LOL.

If 83 was the first year, I'd love to find out how many 6.9's were shipped that year and in what config.

Hard to say of course, without seeing it. But my intent would be to keep it whole, as my youngest son will need a truck in a couple of years.
