Darrin, did you read the FTE thread on that truck? The lift ain't actually as bad as ya'll may think, granted he screwed up big time on the U-bolts and steering linkage, but his lift blocks setup with the trailing arms can be made to work quite decent after a few hours of welding fun

Front still has the factory leafs, rear I have no idea as it's no clearly seen in any of the pics but it looks like he relocated the spring hangers away from the frame.

I've done hundreds of lift kits and fixed hundreds more someone cobbled together and I've never seen one that crappy

wow i wouldn't trust that anywhere! look at all the steering linkages. especially the tie rod and see the bracket at the pumpkin? what the ph..................? and you think the axle is warped some seeing how much weld is at the drivers side bracket? or whatever you would call that....

i'll give him a thousand for it.....

Its not as bad as i though it was, at first i though those were cinder blocks! I was thinking, wth, how are those supporting it.

Is it me or does that cross bar look uneven, and it looks like one leaf has more of a positive arch than the other.

So, the long the U bolts= less strength? right

Bet the first time it was off roaded hard, it would twist the drive shafts and break the u joints due to the drive shaft and pinon angles.

Oh, and the truck is a farce. That suspension arrangement must get real interesting on uneven terrain. I can't believe they didn't even try adding some leaves to it so the "extension sub-frame" wouldn't have to be so tall. Some things look really cool until you get under the covers. Truth can be ugly.

I personally think that the lift was thought out, now it could be better because he is rely'n on the ubolts to hold it together. I think that if you added a link on each side from the axle it's self to the frame that would capture the axle tube that it would ok (as in not shoot the axle out from under the truck). I would like to see some taller springs on it so that you can actually get some axle articulation out of it, right now as it sets you won't get much at all. So it's as it sets a pavement princess in my opinion. Can't really see the rear set up but I think with just a little work on the front it could be a pretty good safe deal.
