Its best to drop the steering colum down from the dash. Remove the lower dash panels under the colum to see the bolts holding the colum to the metal dash. Just enough room to access the small screws holding the switch to the colum. Be sure to adjust the switch so it will turn on and off by sliding it up and down on the mounts. I try to mark where the old switch was so I have a place to start from. The linkage from the key cylinder is not hard to get the switch off of either. Helps if your hands are the smaller type too. Mine aren't..

warmer weather is better for changing the switches to. i have done a few in the winter and always snap the retaining tabs because the plastic is 20 degrees. i have done them just reaching up in but always come out swearing with some scratched up arms. its just real hard to get some leverage to pull the connections apart.

might take a little longer to drop the column down but you might save some sanity. me i am just stubborn:D
