CC headliner

I have a spot in my headliner sagging...what adhesive do you all recommend?

How do you even get the headliner out of a cc?

i am pretty sure you have to remove the rear window and slide it out thru there.

I have a nice blue one here. Hate to throw it away. I got it out through one of the doors.

I was told that its not a one man job. I wanted to istall two layers of sound insulation up there but... I asked Darrin how he got his headliner out to insulate up there. Said it was tuff and they messed it up some trying to get it out the dor. I feel they are installed before the windshield goes in. I don't feel they can go out the rear window. Best to measure before you start working on this. Or find a apolstry shop and get an istimate. Ask how they will remove it without doing any damage. Then use what they tell you.

I've had mine out twice; both times by myself through the front pass. side door. You have to bend the hell out of it. I got mine out and back in without damaging it. I have some aftermarket buckets in the front that I had to lay down flat; if you have a bench in the front, you'll probably have to take the front seat out; or at least take the back off of it. But it's definitely doable.
I used 3m spray on contact adhesive and did 2 coats - which took 2 cans. Of course, I scraped all of the foam off and glued some black Ultraleather up there.
BTW, thumb tacks are a temporary fix, and can eventually lead to a custom "tuck and roll" look if evenly spaced. Did this to a Bronco years ago...............until one of the thumb tacks fell out and I sat on it.

I got it out the door w/no damage whatsoever. It was tight but doable. Prob would have been alot easier w to people though.

Oh yea, both seats were out. That made it easier.

I pulled mine out the rear window. My trucks just a pile of parts now anyway. From what I've hear on headliner repair websites they say to work them out the front passenger door. Still seems like you would have to bend them pretty good.

FWIW I just made mine completely re-done by an auto upholstery shop. It cost me $175 all in, including labor and parts, etc..
I haven't a clue how many guys it took to do the job, but for that kinda price I figure I'll gladly let someone else mess with that stuff!

Pulling the front seat makes it possible without removing the back glass. I redid the one in Goldie last year and used black felt. I used the back side of the old cardboard headliner and sprayed 3M adhesive glue on it and the back side of the felt and pressed it down. Made sweet new look for under 30 bucks.

I tried to remove it out the doors but it didnt want to come out. Had front and back seats out...Did you use a certain door?

How is the 3m adhesive holding? I peeled back the corner sagging about a month ago and sprayed the 3m adhesive and used thumb tacks to hold it in place till it dried and now its sagging again.
