can anybody identify this sensor?

i'm not sure if it is the engine temp , the wire broke and the clip is gone ,i would like to replace the clip.

Thats the "check engine lite switch. It comes on when the coolant temp reaches 242 degrees. You really never want to see that. What it does is pegs the dash water temp gause. Sometimes they go bad and Ford wants around 70 or 80 buxs for them. sorry for the costly news....

the sensor is not bad , the clip that holds the wire on fell off, and i want to replace it, i just wanted to know what i was looking for thank you for the info
