Cam Gear / Thrust Plate Part/Source

Looking for a part number/vendor for the updated cam gear and the camshaft thrust bearing/plate. I see to recall someone said they're pretty easy to get but I can't find any info.

Not able to suggest a place for the thrust plate other than International. Thise generally don't wear out. Mine with over 300,000 miles was fine. You might want to measure the gap before you buy what may not be needed. As for locating the upgraded cam gear most any Nappa wil order it for you. What your looking for is the gear that has the balance lug cast into the gear and this gear has no drilled and threaded removel holes in it. To remove these new gears we just use a gear puller thru the gear face openings. Its a 3 paw puller that works and we turn the leggs uptward. The torque on the gear screw is 25 lbs but the press fit is huge. Heat up the gear to 250 degres before you try to press it on the shaft. Theres plenty of parts that has to be pressed on the shaft long before the gear but I'm sure you know that. First on the cam is the lift pump lobe. Then the cam thrust runner collar. Then the thrust plate with the 2 holes in it for the bolts to fasten it to the block. then finally the gear. Don't loose that woodruff key either. A grind shop that reground my first cam felt they could grind the cam with all those parts on it.. They were wrong and took all that off. They lost the key...

The gap on mine was right at the max spec but I didn't have the time to get a new one when I was in there.

I had the old one off for rebuild, but didn't manage to find a replacement.

However, I realize now that I put the fuel pump cam on out of time, and I need to do some work on the front end to fix a couple oil leaks so I may as well see if I can throw the new and improved gear on there at the same time.
