good is not cheap, and cheap is not good.
if you want a turbo for cheap.
by all means, find yourself that 400 dollar turbo kit.
post several hundred times about its install.
finally get it done and thennnnnnnn..

IMUPO.. to do a turbo on one of these is not simply a matter of finding the cheapest kit out there, slapping it on and calling it golden.
what does a turbo do? it forces air down the intake into the cylinders when the valves open.
often in the 10-15 PSI range.
this puts added stress on the valves, head, head bolts, and head gaskets.
ive destroyed an engine from this.
i would, and have taken the heads off, check for cracks, install new valves, new guides and head studs.
it makes for a better platform and will last.
if you dont want to go through all that, (like the previous owner, thats why we get these trucks for cheap)
then go ahead and slap it on.
it may last sometime, it may go kaboom..
think of your engine as a 16 foot trailer, and your used cheap turbo like a broken down crew cab long bed that needs a tow...
would you tow it?
the CHEAPEST way to do a turbo is to find one of those chinese turbos on e-bay, and adapt it to the engine yourself.
but welding and experience is a must.
