Brownie box. Can anyone tell by looking at this if it’s the box with overdrive? No data tag.

Count the revolution's per turn of input vs output- per 1 turn of input.... -1 is an od
+1 is an underdrive (lower gear)

Sure looks like it. No placards? Possibly s 6000 series unit. You should be able to push and pull the selectors to get different ratios.

I’m not where I can physically look at this. It’s online and no there is no data tag. I’m gonna see if the guy will check and see if it’s an overdrive. I didn’t know if there were different gear options on them.

Stupid me! I still could kick myself! I had 2 speed, three 3 speed & one 4 speed (7041 I think) that when I got on a clean-up, thin out tear last yr & sold!
Stuck that Dana 60 in & converted my '90 CC dually to 4x4. Decided I'd never need any of the boxes so I sold them.....now wish I hadn't!!!

might be better off just putting an overdrive in if that is what you are after, those old boxes are around but seem super hard to find.

The only way to know for sure what you're looking at is to remove the cover and count the teeth. Tags are pretty reliable but can be misleading after a few decades.

I bought a takeout spicer 7041 at auction 2 years ago for 500 bucks. Didn't include linkages/shifter otherwise I'd would have paid more. I'm not sure what your guy is asking for it but I thought what I paid was fair. Mine looks a lot larger then yours so I'd say yours is a 5xxx or 6xxx.

I wouldn't buy it without removing the cover though because you might be buying scrap. These things are old and hard parts are scarce.
