I had the very same problem. Gave the FSV the deep 6, and use the front tank as a
transfer tank with a small fuel pump. Used a right angle thread/barb brass fitting, drill
a hole in the side of the rear Fill Tube, just so the threads catch. Then JB weld it into
place.
I have a 38 gal rear tank, get down to 500 miles then transfer the fuel, takes 40 - 45 min to
transfer. Use a small Cube Faset Pump.
The front tank when completely empty, will hold 21.7 gallons when the handle clicks off.

If you are interested in the 38 Gal tank. It is a F26E. Think it is 7" deeper.
But you may not be able to install the Spare under the bed.
Depending on mileage, I "can" get 600 miles out of that tank.

OG-thanks for that. The 38 gallon tank/sump/FASS/etc. is all happening. Need to get the bed off soon and take a look at the front tank to get an idea of what is needed for bracketing to fit a 60ish gallon aftermarket SD tank in there. 100 gallons or so is enough onboard to keep me from having to put a transfer tank in the bed.

The fuel pedestal in the engine bay needs to go away ASAP, so looking to get the parts all stacked up and just replace it all along with the entire fuel injection system. It's all so old and ugly, going to bite the bullet and just do it.

That's one of my favorite parts of fixing up older vehicles, replacing and tidying up wiring, cleaning years of grime, replacing vacuum lines and loom, and painting brackets. I usually change colors of what I'm replacing to keep track of what I've done for my ADHD goldfish memory.

The first headlight harness I did, I made from a tech article here, was straightforward. The second truck I just got from bronco graveyard.

I love how the interior paint came out, looks gorgeous

Danielle - Couldn't agree with you more. I have that harness from Bronco Graveyard coming my way but will be doing some chopping to it for sure. I purchased a cool headlight accessory for my SDuty that was never installed. It allows for the lowbeams/foglights to stay on when high beams are activated. Max wilderness light for those late nights in the middle-of-nowhere.

Thank you-I'm pretty happy with how the paint came out. It's a temporary solution for now, but much much nicer.

Laying out all the wiring that's stacking up to get my mind wrapped around the cleanest way to do all of this.
I have a factory 4-position upfitter panel from a later truck that needs to get fit into the coin slot cubby. Weird place behind the steering wheel for much else that I can think of.

Out with the old auxillary panel that Centurion put in all those years ago.
8 circuit Auxbeam needs added to the mix.

After installing them in my Blue Truck, H4 LED bulbs, I'm a big fan of Auxbeam lights.
