Where can I buy them. Specifically the cab mount one. The bracket on the frame is pretty much gone on the '86.

There are four of them so which one...L or R front or rear? Rear should be a crossmember

Did you try the local ford dealer that would be a place to buy new, maybe a wrecher/recycler for used.

Just saying....

Ford dealer said that part is obsolete. I've only owned this truck for two months and im getting the impression parts are hard to get. Is that really the case with the 80's trucks. I don't really see the point in owning my '86 anymore if I can't get parts.

I had a old 1980 f150 were the frame was really rusty in the rear. I went to the junkyard, they had a 90's truck that was getting ready to go to the crusher, it was just the frame and cab. They torched the frame off just under the back of the cab and sold it to me for $50. I took it home and drilled all the rivets out of that frame and took all the crossmembers and brackets off, drilled them all out of my truck, and bolted all the good ones in place.

You could go junkyarding and do the same thing. They should be the same, f150/f250/f350 up to around 1996.
