I ran a napa tstat for 10+ yrs before I swapped a motorcraft one in. Only reason I switched was because I had the coolant out and was redoing the cooling assembly.

I will second Classic Diesel Designs. Their Fuel return line kit corrects alot of issues and it simplifies leak areas around the filter housing. They also have many other items that I have bought that are hard to find. This is an awesome engine that is free of troublesome computer programming. This Summer I plan to hit 500K miles on the E350.

It's getting harder and harder to find quality mechanical lift pumps these days. That's one reason why. I had a lift pump get weak and take out my injector pump last year. Granted, it was 9 years old and whatever Auto Zone had on the shelf at that time. I said that as long as it lasted, I was going to stick with it. That time is over so I'm using a Holley blue.
YachtTech82, the facet pumps are know to have serious quality control issues these days and have been known to be weak or bad right out of the box. Just a FYI. I also have an Auto Meter fuel pressure gauge installed before my factory fuel filter to keep an eye on the e pump. That's something that I now recommend to everyone along with a vacuum gauge to keep an eye on your vacuum pump. It works. I got to watch a vacuum pump die slowly so I wasn't surprised by the lack of vacuum assist for the brakes.
I ordered a kit for the holley blue pump from moose diesel but I didn't really do my homework. How do you handle the return pressure? I have 2 tanks.

It needs a regulator. That's all. The one I bought on Ebay came with a regulator. Other than that, it's just like the mechanical pump. It returns through your factory return lines.
If you step up to a Holley black, that needs a returning regulator.
I don't knowhow cold it gets where you live, but I noticed that mine was running 1-3 PSI when it was around 10* last winter. It really doesn't seem to like cold, thicker diesel.

Yes. You will want to adjust your fuel pressure but that's all. I have mine where it usually runs 6-7 PSI while running. That may be a little high yet, but my IP timing is slow so it seems to balance out. Higher fuel pressure will advance your timing. My fuel pressure gauge also before the factory fuel filter so it is probably less to the inlet of the IP.

Is 6-7 minimum for the regulator or will it go lower? I am N/A at the moment and don't need to be stressing my fuel system. I was planning on bumping the IP timing up a degree for snappier starts but sounds like with an electric pump I may not need to. The IP timing factory lines are perfectly lined up right now.
