Well I got my Banks downpipe on tuesday and installed it today. I wrapped the pipe with header wrap for some heat protection. I had to buy a 3" 45 deg. mandrel bend and a short piece of 3" pipe. Cut the 45 down to a 32 to 35 deg for the proper angle welded it up. What a difference in the truck I would highly recommend buying a banks downpipe and installing it, you wont be let down. Better response, lower egt"s, and man is it loud, 3" downpipe 3.5" straight pipe to the back no muffler. I f you need a injector pump call american diesel service in olive branch, ms. I got mine for 275.00 rebuilt with factory parts and turned up about 6% over stock. New pump, rebuilt injectors, downpipe, new rancho shocks, new door hinge bushings, new radius arm bushings. hypermax cowl induction and a k&n filter all in three weeks. I got a new truck for under a 1000.00 dollars. I LOVE MY FORD TRUCK AGAIN.

As far as I know it's suppose to be 3" or 3 1/2" stainless steel, atleast that's what they told me on the phone yesterday when I ordered mine.

It is actually 2 7/8" od that will fit into a 3" pipe to continue down to the rest of the exhaust. This pipe requires no firewall mods to fit. If you want the true 3" then you will have to pay the money and go with the ats upgrade outlet housing and the turbo housing with the downpipe. I am very happy with the one installed on my truck, better fuel mileage, faster spool, more horse power and a whole lot louder I can finally here my turbo through the exhaust. My egt's are about 300 degrees cooler on a good hill climb at 70 mph. You will not be disapointed with installing this pipe on your truck.
