Does the after market version of the ATS turbo for a 7.3 IDI have parts available? Mechanically what goes on these,... bearings? What should be look for when buying a used one? Assuming the truck it came from was maintained and un-abused, at what point are you on borrowed time with it? My current set up is non turbo, never had one on an IDI.

Thanks.

Personally, I would stick with banks. At least you can still get parts from them.

I don't know what you mean by "after market version."
Was only one style of ats, iirc. Ats does not still support these. So no parts if something is missing.

I have all mechanical parts available for the ats turbos. Figure worst case to rebuild and upgrade 575.00 ish. That is a new center.

Russ does have the parts and.., He knows how to "improve" the ATS turbos. They originally were the 088 and it was non wastegated. Then in 93 they produced the 093 with a wastegate on it. Now as for the factory and the after market turbos. They are the same thing.. Same ***** just a different dress. The ATS turbo air filter box hasATS on it and the Factory air filter box had Ford on it. But they are basically the same turbos. If I'm not correct about this someone like Russ or Towcat will correct me. ATS is not my strong point for turbos. Banks is because I run them. Someone once said the o88 was built in 1988 and guess what. The 093 was built in 1993...:sly
