So i put a new Filter in the truck because the Vacuum Gauge was pulling ******* the side of the ATS Filter housing.. New Filter (Fram) still restricts the flow..

Is there a particular part # or Brand i should use with the ATS Turbo?

I pulled it and drove around the block, It drives alot better without the filter!

heard good and bad things about the K&N, but on this old beast i don't think small particles will affect it as much as the newer high tolerance engines..

of course it will there is no restriction, if you trust them get a K&N or the like. if you do so use an offroad motorcycle filter oil, it will catch more dust.

on edit: woops someone beat me to it

Check with SB filters. They make a oiled gauze filter cheaper than you can get K&N, and it might be a better filter. You have the ATS 088(square intake) like me right? If so it uses the same filer as a 90s Ford Mustang with a 302 V8. Somebody else might know if the 085 uses the same one. SB filters treated me right and they did so for Icanfixall as well.

If you have the 85 type box, if may not be the filter. On mine I used a hole saw and opened the opposite side of the box for more air flow and this cured the problem. The 85 box uses a 1974 Porsche 911s filter.
