What do yall think of my new filter?I ordered it on Amazon and its bigger than i thought lol

Is this good for the truck?

for me,,, id leave the stock filter and box on, that filter ( even with the air duct on) will suck in more hot air from under the hood than anything.
the only aftermarket " cold air intake " types ive seen had a box around the filter with a tube or snorkel into the fender or behind the grill,,, allowing only outside air to enter the filter...
but thats my .02...

CDD's turbo kits offer a filter similar to that as an option. I have one with a 4" pipe, works fine.

I’ve got a similar one for my banks turbo. When it got the truck everything was gone back to the turbo.

I had to run the big IDI RV without cold air intake, due to how the ATS 085 air box lid not fitting in a van engine tunnel, and someone made a retaining ring for the filter. It seemed to run plenty cool enough without cold air intake. Make of that what you will.

The blue van also has a filter setup similar to yours due to the Banks turbo kit, placing the filter just under the van hood for easy access. It was awful trying to get the filter out of the ATS 085 in the RV, because it was a truck kit stuck on a van.

Did you figure out why this was making low boost?

Anybody with the Banks turbo have before & after EGTs with the larger filter behind the driver side battery? Butt dyno results? I don't like the factory Banks config just because it clutters up the top of the engine and the filter options are fewer.
