Just so I understand this, have you completely covered your old dash pad with fiberglass, or have you just spackled the pods onto it? Cause from here, it sure looks like you gelcoated the whole thing, which of course, looks really good.

she doesn't know it yet, but all my intercooler and up pipes are getting a dose of bake on high temp ceramic paint

just hot glue, fiberglass mat, and resin. then i sanded the entire thing smooth and primered it all. sanded with 800 grit sandpaper wiped with a wet cloth, primered again, sanded with 1000 grit, wiped it again, and will eventually vinyl paint it blue
i was worried about bleed through with the body filler and uneven coloring as an end result.

The pod pic's below are the ones from the 92 Centurion I bought. The 90 truck is loaned out until this fall to my Nephew in Michigan, my camera was loaned before I could take pic's of the pod I was making. As you can see the base doesn't have to be used, the base was velcroed to the dash, and the pod is screwed to the base.

I have one of those installed on my truck and one sitting on my shelf in the shop. They are getting harder and harder to find. I used to buy them from the diesel shop here in GR, but I bought the last one they could get there hands on a few years ago.

thanks, here is an update....... i painted it
. i used that paint for re coating plastic stuff. it's supposed to flex better. i know, i know, it's too cold to paint outside, so i set up in the garage - in the sun- with a space heater on it and then moved inside to cure. i hope it works.Attachments

thanks, my only concern is that it is to shiny. i'm thinking about wet sanding it to remove the sheen, think it will help?

no that will make it more glossy in less you nock a lot of the paint down

Wait till its fully cured. It might already loose some sheen.
