Not lazy. I just have zero luck with electrical repairs.I have chased wires for days with no luck. I still have not figured out my glow plugs from my other thread and things like this bug me to no end. I tried to reach up and grab the wires on the back of the cluster but there is a piece of steel in the way.

Our identifix does not have a wiring schematic for my truck either.

Its fixed! Shop found a connector that has loose pins. When I push it together the pins were pushing out of the connector far enough to cause an open circuit. Its easy to see now that he showed me :banghead: this also fixed my glow plug issues.

Which plug was it? I'm guessing the main engine harness plug?

It's the grey one.passenger fender it's the same one that burns up the glow plug wires where they pass through it.

Better check the pins for the glow plug leads while your at it.

Pretty much all those connectors will fail eventually if you don't pull them apart after a few years and apply some form of protective grease.

I nearly got left stranded on the side of the road when another connector in that area would cut off cab power intermittently. Hit the signal switch to change lanes and my headlights went out for a split second (along with everything else in the cab).

They epoxied them in place.now I know where to look.next time I may just delete the whole plug

That's just great :rotflmao Now when the connector catches on fire ya can't pull it apart. Better have a wrench handy to fit the battery cable terminals, and a fire extinguisher, preferably a CO2. Trucks have been known to burn down when that connector catches on fire.
