Another reason for disliking the IDI

Exactly. Makes a lot of sense doesn't it? I personal prefer the opposite. Mechanical diesels and EFI gas engines, but what do I know?

I am still concerned a little about the seizing valve issue. I have never heard of this until this thread popped up. Is this something I need to address?

If you are worried about it, just check the guides out. It seems like they almost always will make noise in the intake or exhaust when the guides get to sloppy.
