Hi All,
My truck decided to stall while going down the hwy. After the initial stall, it started once and idled really low for about 5 seconds then stalled again.
Its home now and it nearly starts, but only gets as far as firing up for not even a second, then it dies again. Lots and lots of white/greyish smoke.
I've done some basic troubleshooting. There is lots of fuel getting through the filter and there is fuel getting to the injectors when the lines are cracked open.
There doesn't seem to be any signs of air in the system and there seems to be a small leak coming from the input on the IP.
I checked the FSS and with a test wire jumping from the battery to it, the solenoid clunks back and forth just fine. I confirmed power is getting to the solenoid as well.
I opened up the top of the IP to see how things are inside and found lots of black debris floating in the pool of diesel in there. I have a feeling the IP failed and is no longer able to build up enough pressure to drive the injectors, but I am no expert on the internal mysteries of the IP.
Any thoughts of things I have missed? I'm leaning towards another failed injector pump at the moment.
Thanks in advance as always!
