I know it isn't cheap, but I would advocate for getting it rebuilt. Better safe than sorry IMHO. My ZF has about 50K on it; it was rebuilt before going into the truck, and still shifts and feels like new ;Sweet

the F450 one is a 42.
the other is still an unknown due to the stamping on the plate being unreadable.
actually looks like it was printed not stamped.
unidentifiable with this means.

^ sure about that?
I thought that was gassers and the zf6.
My 94 and my brothers 96 are both external.

Every picture of every diesel S5-47 I've seen shows an external fork. It's the same slave; I've never seen a listing for an internal slave for a diesel application on RockAuto, etc.

this is an S47 :D

Interesting. My zf 5s-47 has the external slave. That picture you have doesn't seem the have the same bolt pattern as our engines too. Looks an awful lot like a small block zf to me.

Pic is waaay too small (and it's not a link), but it's irrelevant whether it's an S5-47 or an S5-42. Is it a GASSER or DIESEL transmission?
