I heard that a K&N Air filter is one of the worse filters to put on it but how about the the brands like AFE? or any other filter will be good for a little better breathing? Thanks

AFE or Amsoil is the best, especially if you have a turbo.

As far as filtering goes you will never beat a paper filter.
Out of all the aftermarket filters K&N would be my last choice. Better than no filter but still there are better filters to be had.
I you live in a dusty area avoid K&Ns!

I agree...I'd much rather put a paper filter in, the filtration is far superior...and this coming from someone who has a K&N in his gasser. I'm always cleaning dirt and dust out of my intake.

i dont live around that much dust but i was looking at the AFE pro dry air filter that is oil-free.

I use the AEM Dryflow on my truck.
It's a little pricey, but it never needs oiled and is supposed to be a really good filter.

I prefer the 2 piece Napa Gold (WIX ). It is a paper filter as well as a foam filter for double protection. I know they work because the truck has 155K on it and I only burn about 1/2 quart of oil between oil changes !!!!
Keep in mind that with the kind of compression these motor have, that any in-take of dust or dirt is going to wear cylinder walls and rings down quick !!

only problem with that filter is that it is VERY restrictive, especially for your turbo.
