Any RV shop will sell the Duct seal on the tape. Thats whats on there now. It works and never hardens ever.

In jam , silicone works fine. or you can use this neat black gooy stuff
Sometimes called mastic tape, sometimes called all kinds of things. It's a real mess to work with but it seals thing up nicely and you can set a layer on one surface and it won't smear around if you slip like silicone ( but it will stick and you will have to pop it loose :D

Regular foam can let fumes through to the passenger compartment.

Once you get the box on, have some more fun and get some of that 1/4" closedcell foam with double sided foil insulation and wrap the whole box with the stuff to insulate it from the engine compartment. It will help your ac temps a bunch ;Sweet

I used some leftover windshield round seal, it comes in a kit and conforms creating a water tight seal under the hood.

I've never had a problem with any unpleasant smells, or water infiltration in the cab. The closed cell foam is not condusive to either. The windshield butyl is a good idea too. I jsut didn't have any on hand at the time.

i used silicone for one section where plastic met plastic and where the stock foam was i went to lowes and got some weatherstripping foam with the adhesive on one side. then selftappers to hold it together works great so far no issues that was over a year ago.
