Lately I've noticed my ABS has stopped working. When I slam on the brakes, the rear wheels lock up and I skid. Any idea what the culprit of my problem is?

What is your truck ?

What is the year - model ?

Do you have an ABS system for sure ?

Does the ABS light come on when you first turn the key
to start it - then go out ?

Does the ABS light stay on when driving ?

Sometimes, if your master brake cylinder level is low,
the ABS and/or Brake light(s) will stay lit on the dash

Hey, 1990 7.3L F350.

Yes both "rear anti-lock" and "(!) BRAKE" lights WERE on until I filled the brake fluid, then they went out. No lights stay on when I'm driving out of those 2.

You need to properly bleed the brakes ...

You need to PROPERLY bleed the brakes completely ...

Search this forum on how to do that

You mean that there is air in my brake lines somewhere? Is the anti-lock light supposed to come on when ABS activates? If so, it doesn't.

I have had 3 ford diesels do that, and sorry but I don't have a solution for you. My current 84 is doing it very bad, no ABS with it though.

My guess would be the porportioning valve...in theroy it should be sending more juice to the front brakes so your rears don't lock up. Not sure, but its certainly a common Ford issue, of that vintage anyways.
Possibly rear brake shoes set up/adjusted wrong.???

Trucks with rear abs don't have a proportioning valve that I have ever seen.
