Hey all,

I need to get four of the bed bolts out on my 99 dually. I took the gooseneck plate out and want to cover the holes left in the bed. I soaked the nuts in PB blaster and hit the heads with a BFH, but I still broke two torx T50's on the first one. Is there a trick to getting the come loose?

Like 93 animal said, weld a nut to the head of the bolt. But most likely the speed clip on the frame will break next.

Then you will need the torch to cut the nut off. then you will need new bolts an clips.

FORD says they are only a one time use bolt. And the bolts are a self tapping type.

Had to deal with this when doing a brake line repair on a super duty a while back.
They are a thread cutting bolt. The nut clips they screw into come with no threads at all. You install the bolts with a 1/2 impact wrench. I myself broke three snapon torx bits getting them out. I also agree with welding a nut to the top then grinding it off afterwards. They also have thread locker on them also so they tend to be a pain.
