i just recently put a 91 transmission in my 94 idit it was in a non turbo 7.3 and my truck shifted fine with the original trans but the torque converter came apart so i bought a new billet converter and a used tranny but the 1-2 and 3-od is shifting very hard

Your posting saying the torque converter came apart doesn't really tell me what happened to it. They don't break in half or fall apart ...
The part shifts are generally controled by the injection pump tps switch. The voltage reading on the center wire must be .96 to 1.2 volts at key on engine off position..
